# “He needs to improve” – These Spurs fans agree with comment on Walker-Peters

“He has a lot to improve” – A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted to Mauricio Pochettino’s comments on Kyle Walker-Peters.

The 22-year-old right-back is the [only option](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/spurs-press-conference-live-mauricio-16773270) for Pochettino at the moment, and on Saturday, he faced Raheem Sterling.

This was easily Walker-Peters’ biggest test of his [career so far](https://hotspurhq.com/2019/08/18/hugo-lloris-shines-in-tottenham-player-ratings-against-city/2/), and [he struggled](https://hotspurhq.com/2019/08/18/hugo-lloris-shines-in-tottenham-player-ratings-against-city/2/) in the first half – as Sterling lost him for [City’s first goal](https://hotspurhq.com/2019/08/18/hugo-lloris-shines-in-tottenham-player-ratings-against-city/2/) and then continued to torment him.

In the second half though Walker-Peters was much improved and managed to [contain Sterling](https://hotspurhq.com/2019/08/18/hugo-lloris-shines-in-tottenham-player-ratings-against-city/2/).

After the game, Pochettino suggested that Walker-Peters has a lot of [improving to do](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/spurs-press-conference-live-mauricio-16773270) – and that he is a [backup for Spurs](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/spurs-press-conference-live-mauricio-16773270).

Tottenham’s manager is waiting for [Juan Foyth](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49186945) to return from injury and Serge Aurier to [regain match fitness](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2019/08/04/dele-alli-doubt-premier-league-opener-tottenham-lose-final-pre/) – so, for now, he only has [Walker-Peters available](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/spurs-press-conference-live-mauricio-16773270), and he is demanding [to see improvement](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/spurs-press-conference-live-mauricio-16773270)from the young right-back.

Many Tottenham fans believe that Walker-Peters needs to hit the gym – as he is too slight in their opinion.
