# “Always believed in you” – These Tottenham fans are happy with Lamela

“Not enough credit goes to this man” – A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans are lauding the display of Erik Lamela in [Spurs’ 2-2 draw](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49384811) with Manchester City on Saturday.

Lamela has [started both](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/75830/Show/Erik-Lamela) of Tottenham’s opening games – and he seems to be taking his excellent [pre-season form](https://www.tottenhamblog.com/2019/07/31/is-erik-lamela-one-of-the-best-pre-season-players-ever/) into the Premier League.

The Argentine[scored one](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49384811) and [assisted one](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49384811) against City in an [assured display](https://hotspurhq.com/2019/08/18/hugo-lloris-shines-in-tottenham-player-ratings-against-city/4/) from the former Roma man.

Lamela’s goal was a [curling strike](https://twitter.com/SpursOfficial/status/1163027758655651843) from outside of the box, Ederson probably should have [dealt with it better](https://twitter.com/SpursOfficial/status/1163027758655651843), but that did not bother the 27-year-old who was happy to except the Brazilian’s gift.

The Argentine then provided a [fantastic corner](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSxwP1Dqr84) that was met by the head of Lucas Moura – who glanced a [superb header](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSxwP1Dqr84) into the back of the net.

One of Spurs’ star players Heung Min Son was banned for the [two opening games](https://cartilagefreecaptain.sbnation.com/2019/8/16/20808509/tottenham-hotspur-team-news-giovani-lo-celso-manchester-city-bench-dele-alli-ryan-sessegnon-son) – and in his place, Lamela has performed well.

Many Tottenham fans are delighted with Lamela’s performance.

Other Tottenham fans while pleased for their Argentine are laughing at Ederson’s positioning – and the fact he handed them a goal.
