# Foyth added to Champions League squad but Janssen misses out

Juan Foyth has been added to Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League squad ahead of the knockout stages.

[Skysports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/11628911/juan-foyth-added-to-tottenhams-champions-league-squad-for-knockout-stages) add that there is still no place for Dutch striker Vincent Janssen, who is behind Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Fernando Llorente in the pecking order.

UEFA only allow clubs to register 17 non-locally trained players for each phase of the competition, meaning Foyth was left out of the group stage quota.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino called the decision to leave the 21-year-old out a ‘mistake’, so will presumably be delighted to be able to pick the Argentinian in the coming weeks.

He takes the place of Belgian international Moussa Dembele, who joined Chinese club Guangzhou R&F last month.

Foyth has made six appearances at centre-back in the Premier League this season, contributing one goal in the process.

He moved to North London from Estudiantes in an £8m deal in the summer of 2017, signing a five-year contract.

As for Janssen, his future at the club looks ever more uncertain after this omission and a collapsed transfer towards the end of the January transfer window.

He cost the club £17m two and a half years ago and has suffered a number of injuries in England, with his contract running out next summer.
