# Mahrez Set to Stay Put Despite Spurs Interest

Riyad Mahrez has been in inspired form this season and has allegedly been attracting the interest of Premier League big-guns, Tottenham and Manchester United.

However, according to the [Leicester Mercury](https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/Leicester-City-transfer-news-Riyad-Mahrez-staying/story-28402007-detail/story.html), the Algerian international’s agent has rebuffed the advances of interested clubs by affirming that his client will be staying at Leicester until at least the end of the season.

> I don’t think Leicester want to sell him and he is focused on doing well with them, I think he will stay in January.

The winger has been one of the Premier League’s stand-out performers this season, notching up 13 goals and 7 assists in just 15 games and along with Jamie Vardy has helped carry his club to the top of the League.

As a result, Mahrez told [Telefoot](https://www.tf1.fr/tf1/telefoot/videos/premier-league-riyad-mahrez-l-incroyable-destin.html) that he is reluctant to leave in the upcoming window but did admit that there has been interest from other clubs.

> I don’t think I will leave, I feel very good here. There are noises and it always nice to have clubs interested in you, but I feel good at Leicester. It would be stupid to leave in January, especially when we are first in the league.

This news will come as a blow to Mauricio Pochettino who is reportedly on the look-out for a new winger, with reports linking both [Sofiane Boufal](https://readtottenham.com/2015/12/21/tottenham-set-move-new-eden-hazard/) and [Ezequiel Lavezzi](https://readtottenham.com/2015/12/21/spurs-move-ligue-1-winger/) with a move to White Hart Lane in recent days.
