# Opposition Corner: Bournemouth

Ahead of Tottenham’s game with Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon, we spoke to Read Bournemouth to find out everything you need to know about Sunday’s opponents.

**What are your thoughts on Bournemouth’s start to life in the Premier League?**

I’m very happy with Bournemouth’s start to the season picking up eight points from nine games. Although we now hover dangerously above the relegation zone, this start to the season has been decent considering all of the injuries to first team members we’ve had. We’ve stuck with our style that got us promoted and that has generally pleased Bournemouth fans.

**Who in your opinion has been Bournemouth’s best player so far?**

Callum Wilson obviously made a fantastic start to the season with five goals in his first seven games, however a severe anterior cruciate ligament injury has ruled him out for six months. Matt Ritchie is another who’s made a strong start to the season scoring some great goals.

**Out** **of your summer signings, who has performed the best so far?**

A tricky question as most of our best summer signings have been ruled out with injury. Max Gradel started well and Tyrone Mings only played ten minutes of football. Glenn Murray has proved to be a vital signing after Wilson’s injury and he has scored two goals in two games. Sylvain Distin is another signing who has proved to be vital after Tommy Elphick’s injury.

**What is a reasonable expectation for Bournemouth to achieve this season?**

I think a target for Bournemouth this season is simply to survive so a reasonable target considering our start to the season and our luck with injuries is maybe 15th or 16th. Avoiding a relegation scrap would be nice but in reality it may come down to this.

**How good is Eddie Howe?**

Eddie Howe is brilliant, we love him. He’s done so much for Bournemouth and our almost miraculous promotion last season was down to his fantastic tactics and style of play. Howe is an England manager in the making and we hope he is given the recognition he deserves.

**Finally, who is going to pose the biggest threat to Spurs on Sunday?**

A couple of players could threaten Spurs, mainly Glenn Murray who has two in two and should not be underestimated and also Matt Ritchie has the potential to score brilliant long-range goals if he is not marked properly.
