# Alli expected to feature in last Euro 2016 qualifier

Dele Alli is expected to make his second appearance for England on Monday night, although he is not expected to start.

Alli, who’s selection in the squad has been defended by Roy Hodgson, is expected to get more minutes under his belt as a number of senior players have been left at home ahead of the game against Lithuania.

The likes of Jordan Henderson, Fabian Delph, Michael Carrick and Jack Wilshere all considered to be at the top of the pecking order for the three England midfield roles will all miss the game, meaning that the likes of Alli and Jonjo Shelvey will have the chance to impress in the last competitive game before next summer’s European Championships in France.

[According to the Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/england/11925674/Lithuania-vs-England-Dele-Alli-to-play-key-role-for-Roy-Hodgson-in-Euro-2016-qualifier.html), Alli’s inclusion as a starter has been considered by Hodgson and his coaching staff, but it is has been decided against.

Being included in the England squad, has emphasized the remarkable rise through the ranks of English football for the former MK Dons man.

Last season, he was plying his trade in League One with only two U-21 caps to his name and this season after only three Premier League starts, he already has his first England cap after coming on against Estonia as a substitute.

What are you thoughts on Alli’s inclusion and debut in an England shirt? Is it too soon for a young player who has bags of potential or has it come at the right time?
