# Match Report: Tottenham 1-2 Arsenal

There was to be no repeat trip to Wembley this year for Tottenham as they exited the Capital One Cup at the third round stage after a Flamini double gave Arsenal a win in the first North London derby of the season.

Both Pochettino and Wenger named strong teams, as they both looked to progress in a competition they both felt they could win. Harry Kane started up front for Tottenham whilst Son was rested but was on the bench and Vorm returned in goal for Lloris whilst.

However, just over half way through the first half, Flamini opened the scoring for Arsenal after Vorm could only parry a shot from Oxlade-Chamberlain into the path of the Frenchman, who slotted home to give Arsenal.

With the score remaining the same at half-time, Tottenham had a goal ruled out for offside early in the second half as Kane was correctly judged to be offside when he put the ball into the back of the Arsenal net after a shot rebounded off the post.

A few minutes later, Chambers would score an own goal to bring the scores level after he deflected Nacer Chadli’s cross into his own net despite no Tottenham player putting pressure on him.

But it was to be a day to remember for Flamini as he sealed Arsenal’s victory with just over 10 minutes left which meant Arsenal left White Hart Lane with the bragging rights.

But for Pochettino and Tottenham, they will have been disappointed to go out of what is a very winnable competition after reaching the final last year, whilst the form of Harry Kane will continue to be a concern for Pochettino and fans alike.
