# Warburton would love Pritchard reunion

**Rangers manager Mark Warburton says he would love to take young midfielder Alex Pritchard on loan.**

The 22-year-old had a successful loan spell under the leadership of Warburton at Brentford last year, and [the former Bees boss has said](https://www.newsnow.co.uk/A/789774256?-21343:8716:0) he would jump at the opportunity of bringing him to Ibrox for the coming season.

He conceded, however, that it is likely the player will be playing at a much higher level than what Rangers would offer, with Norwich City supposedly interesting in taking the player on a temporary basis.

“I would love to take Alex Pritchard on loan, but I think Alex Pritchard will be playing at a much higher level,” he told a press conference on Friday.

“He’s ready for Premier League football, the loan market has been used tremendously well by Spurs. He will be a top player.”

Pritchard made 45 appearances for the Griffin Park club last season, scoring 12 goals, and his form was enough to earn a place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the summer’s UEFA U21 European Championships.

He missed most of the tournament due to injury, however, but looks set for a bright future at White Hart Lane having signed a new five-year contract earlier in the month.
