# Match Preview: MLS All-Stars vs Spurs

Robbie Keane will miss out on a dream return against his former side after suffering an injury ahead of Wednesday night’s fixture.

The one-time Spurs captain was set to spearhead the All-Star’s attack in Colorado against Mauricio Pochettino’s side, but he has since been ruled out of the match because of injury.

Former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard will also miss the game because of an unspecified injury, joining Frank Lampard on the sidelines after he withdrew earlier in the week because of a calf injury.

There will be at least one familair face on show for Spurs fans with Clint Demspey expected to start following a year of disciplinary problems, whilst David Villa and Kaka are also expected to feature from the off.

For Spurs, it will be a first opportunity this season for fans to see Harry Kane in action after the star was granted an extended summer break following participation in the UEFA U21 European Championships.

The 22-year-old had a breakthrough season at White Hart Lane last season, scoring 31 goals in all competitions, and he will be looking to continue that kind of form into this season, starting with a positive performance stateside.

After representing Argentina in the Copa America, Erik Lamela has also travelled with the side and could make his first appearance of pre-season, whilst the same goes for DeAndre Yedlin following USA’s Gold Cup campaign.

Summer signings Toby Alderweireled and Kevin Wimmer are also set to feature following run-outs in a behind-closed-doors friendly match with Championship side Brentford last week.
