# Chiriches Fiorentina talks break down

Vlad Chiriches has failed to agree a loan deal to Fiorentina and looks set to join Turkish side Galatasaray – according to reports in Italy.

The Serie A side’s manager Paolo Sousa has been a long term admirer of the 25-year-old and tried to bring him to Basel last year, but attempts to sign the player have again failed to come to fruition.

It is thought the Italian side wanted to bring the Romania captain in on loan with a view to a permanent move, but Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino wants to recoup the £7m the club paid for him two years ago.

*Tuttomercartoweb.com* report that Chiriches – who made just seven Premier League appearances last season – could now be set for a move to Turkey, with Galatasaray waiting in the wings.

If the centre-back was to complete a move, he would not be the first player to make the switch from England this summer after Lukas Podolski and Robin Persie were transfered to Galatasaray and Fenerbahce respectively.
