PSG winger Lucas Moura has completed a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
The Brazilian was recently close to signing for Tottenham’s Premier League rivals Manchester United, but with United’s capture of Alexis Sanchez, the door was left open for Spurs to sign Moura.
This signing has sent a message of intent to the Premier League, as they search for renowned players before their stadium move next season.
The 25-year-old has seen his game-time decrease in Paris since the arrivals of Neymar and Mbappe. Lucas will sign for a fee of around £25m and will be available for their match against Liverpool on Sunday but NOT their game this evening against Manchester United.
The Brazilian has signed a five-and-a-half-year deal with the club.
Pochettino has hailed Lucas and hopes to lure more players of his quality, although he understands his side cannot attract the players that teams such as Manchester United or Manchester City can, stating Spurs have to sign “opportunities” – meaning high potential players, rather than ready made, world renowned players.
Other than Lucas Moura, it’s thought Spurs won’t be doing any more business today.
