Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Besiktas full-back Dusko Tosic, according to reports from Turkey.
The 32-year-old has been a consistent figure for Besiktas this season and appears to be attracting interest from clubs across Europe because of this.
However, it does come as something of a surprise given the depth Spurs have at full-back, to see Turkish news outlet Fanatik cite the North London outfit with interest in Tosic.
It’s claimed in the report that Spurs are prepared to cough up a fee worth in the region of €8 million for Tosic, who turns 33 next January.
Spurs don’t have an abundance of experienced players in the ranks but are blessed with quality defensive options, perhaps suggesting that this report from Fanatik is wide of the mark.
Tosic is predominantly a left-back, but also has the capacity to operate in central defence if required.
The defender is contracted to Besiktas until the summer of 2019.
