Five Tottenham Transfer Window Targets
The countdown to the end of the transfer window has started and all around the Premier League managers are scrambling to bring in new players. At Tottenham, for once, the majority of the work has already been done and any players that come in now are more likely to be squad fillers rather than first team starters.
That doesn’t mean there is any lack of rumours, ranging from an end to the long drawn out Georges-Kevin N’Koudou saga to deals for 16 year olds from Fulham.
Let’s take the time to look at the top 5 rumours and see how credible we think they are.
5. Oliver Burke – Nottingham Forest
A new name even for seasoned football watchers. This young winger has only just broken through at Nottingham Forest but he’s already drawing comparisons with former Tottenham star Gareth Bale. Ok, he’s right footed instead of a leftie but his performance against Wigan on Saturday shows he already has the pace, skill and eye for goal that made the Welshman a fan favourite at the Lane.
Nottingham Forest don’t want to sell and the player himself may decide he’s better off playing week in – week out instead of moving to Tottenhams U21 side.

4. Jean-Kevin Augustin – Paris Saint Germain
Augustin looked like he might make the breakthrough at PSG last season after featuring prominently in the preseason matches. First team minutes ended up being rare though and the 19 year old striker only made 13 appearances last season, starting just 4 times.
He’s a strong, explosive player for someone so young and if he were to leave Les Rouge et Bleu then there would be any number of suitors.
PSG would prefer to see him leave on loan but with Jese coming in to compete for a starting spot with Cavani, this could be another season of frustration for the young Frenchman and he may prefer to leave permanently.

3. Ante Coric – Dinamo Zagreb
There are no end of clubs interested in this young Croatian midfielder and rumours say that Manchester City have him tied up already. Right now though there has been no confirmation of that deal and with Spurs lacking a bit of craft in central midfield (when Dembele is out) there is definitely space for this 19 year old.
This is a player with his head on straight and like Vincent Jannsen he has already turned down offers from big money clubs in the hopes of advancing his career with “the right club”. For a while that was Dinamo Zagreb but it appears he’s decided to move on.
Able to play alongside Dier (or Wanyama) or also comfortable playing the 3 behind the frontman, Coric has the kind of flexibility that would mark him out as being a Pochettino favourite.

2. Pau Lopez – Espanyol
A goalkeeper with a hot streak. Lopez has been in the spotlight for stamping on Lionel Messi last season. Seemingly out of the picture at Espanyol there has been serious talk of a loan move to Spurs this season and with Hugo out for a few weeks the timing is perfect.
Michel Vorm is the man with the gloves right now but we’ve seen him screw up in the past and a credible back-up on the bench would definitely strengthen the squad.
A loan with an option for a permanent move seems like the best idea right now but didn’t we have the same deal with Stipe Pletikosa? Let’s hope this one turns out a little better.
1. Georges-Kevin N’Koudou – Marseille
Spurs fans have been crying out for trickery and pace as this current side looks a little one-paced right now. Bringing in a wide player does seem like a sensible move but it may require sending Clinton N’Jie out on loan as Marseille can’t get the funds together to buy anyone right now.
Marseille are skint and Daniel Levy knows it, he’s been clever in the past wringing some great deals out of financially stricken clubs but there is concern that he may be trying to get a little too much blood out of this particular stone.
Signed from Nantes in July 2015 for just €1.5m, Marseille are likely to get a very good return on their money even if they do cave to Levy’s wishes.
This young Frenchman may be missing the final ball we’re craving but he has bags of pace and scores the occasional goal. Think Ruel Fox, but better!
