Vincent Janssen signs for Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of AZ Alkmaar striker Vincent Janssen on a four-year-deal, as per the BBC.
The Netherlands international has been a Tottenham target for most of the summer, with the two clubs eventually agreeing a fee for the 22-year-old, which seems to be in the region of £17m.
Janssen was the top scorer in the Eredivisie last season with 27 goals in 34 games and hit 31 goals in all competitions for the Dutch side, making him sought after by a whole host of European clubs.
Janssen adds some much-needed depth to the Tottenham frontline, with Harry Kane often recognized as Spurs’ sole senior striker for the majority of the last campaign.
The former Feyenoord youth player has made five appearances for the national side, scoring three times, including a goal in a friendly win over England and in total he has scored over 60 goals in the last three seasons for club and country.
With a lack of firepower aside from Kane a huge factor in costing Spurs the Premier League title, Pochettino has moved quickly to rectify the problem with Janssen expected to make a big impact on the first team.
